Context

In 2018 Michael and his family relocated from Cardiff to Pembrokeshire in order to realise a dream…. a dream of living on the rugged Welsh coast line, setting up his own architectural practice and taking on an exciting development project of their own.

In the Spring of 2018 this became a reality with the purchase of ‘The Royal’ a derelict hotel/public house in Broad Haven, Pembrokeshire. Towards the end of 2019 this will become the family home and the home of ‘oochitecture’.
The development project and architectural practice go hand in hand, showcasing the design skills, practical knowledge and construction management that Michael and the Oochitecture team can provide.
Having worked in a large multi-disciplinary practice for over a decade, Michael had the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects at various scales. However, it was always an ambition to form his own practice and have the ability to control the projects and services that it could offer to its clients.

As a practice we are passionate about modern design and detailing, alongside the use of traditional materials and craftsmanship. From the analysis of context, site massing, building form, sustainable design and detailing – these factors heavily influence our design principals in order to create sensitively placed, sustainable, healthy and inspirational buildings for us and our future generations.
